Thank you for your talk this morning. I have never seen our group so absolutely spellbound. It was due to the power of your message. Apparently you can reach people of all ages as you did with us. There is a universality of pain and suffering and we need whatever tools we can muster to survive. Thank you for sharing yours.
Judy, Lead Facilitator Women’s Book Club Group, Rancho Mirage, CA
We have known Barbara Appelbaum professionally for many years. It wasn’t until we were looking for a team-building activity for our staff that we really got to know how talented she is. She was able to get my team of admin and massage therapists focused on giving back to themselves and shifting some of the negative energy that some of us had been feeling to a more positive one. We created vision boards that were personal to each of them. It triggered much-needed conversations of things that had been bothering some people. While creating, the conversation flowed and became much more light-hearted in the end. Some healing took place that day. Some things came to light on those who needed to move on and those who could make little changes to improve their work environment. Accountability, introspection and clarity were major outcomes from something that I thought would not be well-received.
We allowed our staff to post their vision boards in their rooms so that they could stay “in touch” with what they are working so hard for. It made a huge impact on them and we are forever grateful to Barbara for her guidance, nurturing and talent! We will do this again in the future for sure!
Wow…Tuesday’s webinar was truly outstanding. Our topic was Learning to be Resilient in the World of MS, and we had a great line up featuring Dawn Ehde, a psychologist from the University of Washington, and Barbara Appelbaum of Appelbaum Wellness LLC, a motivational speaker, author and a certified wellness coach. “I have been floundering without all of these tools! This was so totally awesome!! Best presenters and best webinar I have listened too since my diagnosis in Jan. 2003,” said one attendee.
We were blessed to have Barbara take time out of her weekend to speak to our MS Support Group. She is very knowledgeable about wellness and living as healthy as possible with a chronic disease. She provided an excellent interactive presentation for us that exceeded our expectations. Group members described the topics covered as helpful and interesting. Thanks again, Barbara!
Melissa Mills, National Multiple Sclerosis Society Support Group Facilitator Champaign/Urbana
We recently had the pleasure of featuring Barbara as a presenter to our chapter members as part of our monthly webinar series. She’s clearly an expert in wellness coaching as her material was filled with tips, ideas and techniques for both coaches to use personally and for them to use with their clients. Barbara’s style was warm, inviting and easy-going and her personal story an inspiration to all. If you are looking for an informative, upbeat presenter in the area of wellness, you should strongly consider Barbara!
Karen Konrath, ACC/ICF-Wisconsin Chapter
Barbara was excellent, informative, very helpful, relatable and inspiring. Outstanding presentation that was very authentic, meaningful, and clear. Lots of great ideas offered; can’t wait to buy her book; other talks by her would be very welcome.

It was a great show and I appreciate the tips and tools you shared with our audience for integrated healing. My favorite tidbit is that our relationships are a part of our nutrition. You opened my eyes to a lot of things last night. So, THANK YOU.
I highly recommend Barbara B. Appelbaum as a speaker for any organization, club or group of individuals who are interested in health of body, mind and soul. Barbara gives practical, common-sense hints on healthy living plus her personal journey in life which is very inspiring. I have had many speakers at my support group which I have facilitated for 31 years for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and Barbara is one of the top speakers our support group has been privileged to hear. Barbara’s presentation is simply amazing.
Yolanda Treiguts, Leader, National MS Society South Cook Self-Help Group
You rocked it! Thank you for sharing your amazing insights on Gift Biz Unwrapped. I know our listeners will be inspired and enriched with the knowledge you shared. It’s a true gift – in more than one way!
I learned quite a bit of information in addition to what I already knew from my own research. I have never stopped reading about MS since the day of my diagnosis. I was so very grateful to hear the story of the young lady (Barbara B. Appelbaum) who came to speak. Much of what she had gone through prior to her diagnosis was similar to my story. It is such a relief to hear someone’s story because it is confirmation that we are not alone.
You are remarkable in your enthusiasm and dedication to this important work! This Wellness Initiatives Strategy Meeting was challenging, both with a very ambitious agenda and a diverse group in attendance. As co-chair, your skillful facilitation greatly contributed to the meeting’s success. This was an important first step to our wellness initiative and we are delighted with the outcomes.
Kathleen Costello and Debra Frankel, National MS Society – MS Society Project Leads
After listening to Barbara explain the concept of the vision board, I knew this new tool would further congeal my team at work. During a team meeting, I allowed time at the end to explain the vision board idea – that we were making a poster to cover the stock room door that would exemplify our goals. I also used the three premises of J.Jill: 1. Create a great brand, 2. Build a successful business and 3.Make J.Jill a great place to work. Together, we created a visual reminder of these pillars and how we would accomplish them.
In the coming weeks, during a visit from my District Manager, she fell in love with the concept and asked to take a picture. She then shared it at a regional level. Thanks to learning the concepts taught by Barbara to me, J. Jill is now implementing vision board creation regionally.
It was nice to see that one other person has had a positive experience with MS…I really do thank MS for coming into my life. It was just really nice to hear you say that. Because, sometimes I feel like maybe I’m trying to fool myself. What you said about auto-pilot really hit home and I’d just like to thank you for sharing.
Barbara B. Appelbaum was a guest speaker at Congregation Bene Shalom in December 2013. She spoke on her book, Live in Wellness Now, and the ‘Healing Power of Faith’ while adding wonderful anecdotes to bring her book to life. Barbara had us laughing, crying, learning, and spellbound. I have been the Rabbi of this congregation for over 40 years; she is among the finest speakers and most inspiring teachers I’ve ever experienced. Barbara B. Appelbaum is a gift.
Rabbi Douglas Goldhamer PhD

We recently had Barbara Appelbaum present an educational workshop, “Find Your Healthy Balance,” to a group of our Chamber members. Barbara’s story was compelling and so inspiring. Our members thoroughly enjoyed having Barbara share her presentation, and we had such positive feedback on the information and tips she shared. We would love to have Barb back for a more in-depth workshop — there was so much great content and we only had time to scratch the surface! We would highly recommend that any organization have Barbara come teach its employees, staff and volunteers how to live a more balanced life.

Barbara’s presentation to the AMI Group, L.P. was very well done. I was pleasantly surprised at the level of detail provided in her book and she offered clear and concise strategies for obtaining and managing good health. Her question and answer session with an explanation format was the best way for all of us to remember the information. Thank you. I look forward to using Live in Wellness Now.

She is a great listener and offers clean, insightful feedback. Barb also has a gift for speaking. She presents material in a thoughtful, intuitive way. Each time she gives a presentation, it is more of an experience rather than just an informative talk. I think Barb has a unique background, a varied set of skills and, most importantly, an engaging personality. All of these together make her an ideal life and wellness coach. Barbara’s coaching was instrumental in helping me make a major career move. I was looking for a coach who could help me put my issues into a proper perspective, develop a series of goals and strategies, and then hold me accountable. Thanks for all your help and support!
Barb is a true gem. She has an incredible talent for identifying precisely what issues are blocking me at any given time and providing me with insight and assignments to help me work through them. Through our time together I have gone from feeling professionally and creatively stifled to ebullient, directed, and confident. I entered the coaching process with some skepticism, but after the first session all of my doubts have dissipated: Barb is a master and the experience has been invaluable.
Thanks so very much for your presentation today. Once again you were able to speak eloquently about a topic not only timely but appropriate for women. Thank you also for sharing so much about yourself and your personal “speed bumps.” You are a wonderful role model and example for women who are challenged by emotional and physical difficulties.
