As I wrote in my newsletter last month, the New Year offers a call to action – the opportunity to heal individually and collectively as a nation and a world. Each day you write another chapter in your life’s story and it is up to you to choose what you will do with each of them. Will you make a positive impact, a negative one, or simply sit on the sidelines in a neutral position? If you are honest with yourself, you will probably do a mix of all of the above. I know I will because I am nowhere near perfect to do something positive every day. However, I will strive to do my best the majority of the time because that’s my natural tendency.
Hope is on the horizon with the rollout of two vaccines to fight covid-19. This alone is miraculous given the speed with which they were created and tested prior to FDA authorization. And the real game-changer of these vaccines is the technology used to create them that can and will be used in the future to create vaccines for other diseases.
Stability is also on the horizon with a new president and team taking the helm of our nation. Maybe, just maybe, there will be less chaos and divisiveness going forward. It would be a blessing if we as a nation and a world could come together in unity, agreeing it is okay to disagree while still being civil to one another bearing in mind the same goal of striving for the betterment of all people.
2021 is off to an interesting start. How it will end is anyone’s guess. We can certainly agree that we all pray it is better than 2020 turned out. You can help write its history by staying positive, having hope, creating unity, and most of all, giving back. Collectively, we can all make a positive impact toward healing.
Be Present | Be Purposeful | Be Well
Thank you for this Barb and happy New Year. I along with you (and everyone) am looking forward to letting go of the bad parts of 2020. In between COVID and politics there were some good parts, so those I will cherish.
